What happens if the family's primary "hang-out" space is in front of two rarely used garage bays? Can the area be converted to patio yet still allow occasional vehicle access to the garage? Yes.
Goals
Transform the front of the garage into a space for people—not cars.
Give cars another place to park, but connect it to the primary entrance on the east side of the house.
Do not block auto access to the garage bays.
Screen out views of parked cars. If possible, screen views of Spear S
Existing conditions
Cars dominate a large, gravel parking area.
“It hurts our feet.” LOTS of gravel.
Trampoline can be relocated.
A swale runs through the front yard, draining into a culvert that goes under the driveway.
